All fatal accidents are devastating. Perhaps many would agree, however, that few car accidents are as tragic as those that claim the life of a child. Sadly, just such a fatal crash occurred recently in Ohio.
A multiple vehicle collision took the life of a 4-year-old boy in Canton early on a recent Tuesday evening. Reportedly, three vehicles collided. The automobile containing a mother and her two young children — the little boy and his 2-year-old sister — was struck not just once, but twice.
The mother and the toddler were both treated for minor injuries. The male driver who struck their vehicle also suffered minor injuries. The boy, on the other hand, suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted for treatment to a children’s hospital. The coroner’s office later confirmed that, tragically, the child succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities, and depending on police findings, the driver or drivers who caused the fatal accident could ultimately face criminal charges.
