Injuries can happen no matter what type of crash occurs on an Ohio roadway. Many automobile accidents depend on factors such as speed, impairment and more. Even so, some types of auto accidents lend themselves to causing more injuries than others. For instance, a rollover accident could lead to injuries requiring hospitalization more frequently than a minor fender bender.
Five teenagers recently discovered this fact on a recent Saturday afternoon. As they traveled State Route 60, the driver lost control of the vehicle for an as yet unknown reason. From what troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol preliminarily reported, the vehicle swerved to the right and then to the left, and then it flipped over.
When troopers arrived at the scene, the vehicle was on its roof. One of the passengers, a 15-year-old boy, was thrown from the backseat during the crash. He suffered serious injuries for which he was transported to a hospital in the area via helicopter. The 18-year-old driver and the other three passengers were also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The investigation into the crash closed that portion of the roadway for approximately three hours. At the time, it was not yet known whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, or whether any criminal charges will result. As is the case with other automobile accidents, the victims or their families, as applicable, retain the right to file personal injury claims in an effort to recover damages for the financial losses associated with the accident.
