The loss of a loved one in a fatal crash is certainly difficult to bear and will leave families with a lot of questions regarding the circumstances behind the incident. Ohio State Troopers are currently investigating a single-car crash that resulted in the death of two women. As with all fatal car accidents, this crash deserves attention from police to bring justice to the victims who lost their lives.
This particular crash occurred recently in Athens County. Two women, ages 26 and 44, were passengers in a BMW driven by a 44-year-old male. The driver apparently lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the side of the road. He survived, though he suffered severe injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital. Both women died in the crash.
Currently, charges have not been filed against the driver in this case. Authorities are still waiting for blood tests to determine if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision before proceeding with criminal charges. They are also looking into whether cell phone use may have played a part in the incident.
