A car crash occurred in Ohio the day after Christmas, severely injuring all three individuals involved. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred when a man — believed to be under the influence of alcohol — drove his vehicle across the center line on State Route 43, striking an SUV traveling in the opposite direction.
The collision trapped the couple inside their SUV, seriously injuring them both. Rescue personnel had to cut them out. The SUV driver was transported via helicopter to a hospital for treatment of his life-threatening injuries. His wife, also seriously injured, was taken to a different hospital by ambulance.
The driver who is believed to be responsible for causing the crash was also trapped inside his vehicle and had to be cut out. He was then also taken to a hospital for treatment. While the crash remains under investigation, officials have indicated that they believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
