Ohio car accidents caused by any number of factors

  |   Apr 10, 2017  |  Car Accidents

Car wrecks in Ohio can occur for any number of reasons. Drivers who are drunk and shouldn’t be behind the wheel, drivers who are texting, drivers who simply aren’t paying attention and get distracted: these are just some of the many causes or contributing factors in car accidents. Sometimes, though, a motor vehicle accident occurs for no other apparent reason than the other driver took an unnecessary risk that had dire consequences. This does not necessarily mean, though, that the victims should have to bear the burden of the resultant pain and medical costs.

A recent crash occurred on the afternoon of Monday, April 3 on Ohio State Route 93. The head-on collision resulted in the hospitalization of three people. One of the injured was a young boy who rescue workers flew to Cabell Huntington Hospital. The current status of the injured individuals is unknown at this time.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers believe the crash occurred when the driver of a southbound green car attempted to pass a tractor-trailer. Unfortunately, the car ran out of room while passing and collided head-on with an oncoming SUV, which was pushed against the semi. The tractor-trailer was shoved into the guardrail, while the SUV flipped onto its side. The female driver of the SUV and the two children who were passengers were all transported to hospitals.

No charges have yet been filed, but a reconstruction team was investigating the incident, and their findings will be shared with a prosecutor. Regardless of whether any criminal charges are forthcoming, however, the injured family may choose to consult a personal injury attorney with experience in cases involving car accidents. In fact, anyone in Ohio who has been injured through another driver’s fault or negligence may benefit from seeking the counsel of a lawyer, who can offer advice on compensation for suffering and economic damages.
