There are so many types of vehicles on the roads today, all ranging in size and function. Along Ohio roadways, tractors pulling mowing equipment are often seen and accidents with these mowers are typically treated the same as a regular car accidents. A recent accident between a passenger vehicle and one of these tractors resulted in personal injury to each of the drivers.
The accident happened mid-June in Logan. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the tractor, which was driven by a 53-year-old male, was rear-ended by a passing automobile. The tractor was pulling a mower at the time of the crash and evidently had a slow-moving vehicle sign posted. The car, driven by a 42-year-old male, was traveling in a westbound lane of U.S. 33 when the crash occurred.
Both men were transported to area hospitals, one via helicopter, for treatment. The specific physical conditions of the men were not reported. Local authorities are still investigating this incident. At this time, it has not been reported if any citations or charges have been filed.
When an accident with injuries occurs on Ohio roadways, those who are injured may question what rights they have. The tractor driver may be entitled to pursue both workers’ compensation benefits through his employer and a personal injury claim against the driver of the car. If the car’s driver is found liable for causing the crash, an Ohio civil court may award the victim financial compensation for the economic losses and pain and suffering he has endured due to the crash.
