Both vehicles went through the guard rail and into the median. While the passenger vehicle rolled onto its roof and came to rest there in the median, the 18-wheeler kept going. As it went into the oncoming lanes of travel, it hit another vehicle before finally come to a stop after hitting a sound barrier. Three of the people involved in this crash were airlifted from the scene, and one more was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. Police are asking for any witnesses who saw the impact to come forward.
This accident was so severe that even the driver of the truck was one of the ones who suffered serious injuries, but this does not excuse the fact that he is believed to be responsible for the accident.
